OCTA VR

OCTA VR is named after the octahedron, one of the five platonic solids, it is a meditative audio-visual VR experience on the creation of this solid through the dimensions of space. The experience is based on visions and dreams that are keep coming back to me. In this visions I realize the full beauty and mystery that this shape is shrouded in. I'm recreating this visions through the power of Virtual Reality. Since I'm getting this visions I'm working continuously to unfold the mystery of this shape through physical and digital experiments. I believe this geometric form holds the key to understand the creation and the structure of this grand illusion we call reality. You will see how this form creates fundamental spiral patterns as you can see in black holes or in the structure of our DNA. People have studied the mathematical beauty and symmetry of the octa for thousands of years. Many ancient temples are based on the octahedral shape, ancient relicts speak of magical powers that are embedded in the structure of this shape. The experience is using the Leap Motion camera to interact with the shape with our hands naturally. The interaction generates realtime audio modulations that are based on the speed of the rotation. The combination of the generated audio and the visuals can have a profound effect on the consciousness and can induce altered states.
